Music Creator
I create and perform music across various alternative genres.
That includes producing music for bands, theater, tv, film, radio, and dance.
I have also written a lot of lyrics in german and english.
My musical journey started near Münster at the age of 11, playing multiple instruments in many bands and also starting my recording experience on a four-track tape deck and sequencing on a Korg M1.
In 1999, I moved to Berlin to study double bass, being part of the vibrant Berlin jazz scene of the early 2000s. This led to a few years of touring through different countries and receiving some awards with various bands. Our band Olaf Ton, was many years later recognized as a catalyst of the special Berlin breed of jazz in the early 2000's by the Jazzinstitut Darmstadt, which in 2019 also hosted an exhibition on our big band project, Brigade Futur 3.
From 2003 onward, my focus shifted more towards songwriting, production, and touring with my alternative pop band, Super700 for nearly a decade.
next to touring Europe we played also shows in Mexico, Canada, China and the USA, where we where invited by Nick Harcourt into the legendary Radio show Morning Becomes Eclectic.
Simultaneously, I was expanding my musical playground by creating compositions for theater, film, and radio plays. From 2011 to 2015, I lived in Kosovo, collaborating with a multitude of local artists.
Over time, I also spent all in all nearly two years working in theater in Switzerland.
Operating from my studio, THE COP SHOP, in the heart of Prenzlauer Berg i've been recently focusing on writing and producing for theater plays and jazz projects like Brigade Futur III and the Swiss National Jazz Youth Orchestra (jugendjazzorchester.ch), together with my long-time collaborator, Benjamin Weidekamp.
I've also been working on the music for the second season of my first TV show, "Like a Loser" on ZDF Neo.
Additionally, I continue to produce, mix, and master music for other artists like e.g. the album of great singer and Performer Pari Eskandari, after contributing to projects by artists like Bruckner, Julia Marcell, or SEEED that have amassed about 30 million plays in alternative music circles.
